Cold Spring Pond Bulkhead Removal

This bulkhead removal pilot will demonstrate a shoreline’s long-term transition from hardened shoreline structure to natural shoreline system, in a location with a history of working waterfront and public enjoyment. PEP is working with Southampton Trustees to establish a preliminary location to pilot a bulkhead removal study, otherwise known as Cold Spring Pond. Designs are looking to naturalize the shoreline while retaining working waterfront and public access priorities.
